Welcome to YOUR Library Media Center!
Your place for books to read, research resources and much more!
Your Library Media Manager is: Sheri New
Hello Everyone! I hope your school year is off to a great start. The Media Center is open and ready for another great year! Our hours are the same as last year. However, since our day now begins at 8 AM, you have more time before school starts to visit. If you need to complete an assignment, print, research, take an AR test, or check out a new book, I am here ready to help!
Summer Reading Requirements
Summer reading is crucial if students want to maintain their reading skills throughout the long summer break. Therefore, we would like to encourage pleasure reading for the summer as well as the completion of a required book for summer reading. Students, please complete your assigned book before the start of school. Students will take an AR Quiz on their class book and complete a review with their teacher when they return to school.

If you find yourself needing a new book and the library is closed, check out our ebooks in Destiny.
To find an eBook, go to UA’s Destiny Card Catalog page and search for an eBook in the material type drop down list. All eBooks are accessible from home or at school. Union Academy students have been given the password needed to access our eBook collection.
New Books Have Arrived
The last month of school I went through all the book requests you turned in and placed an order with my book vendor. Although I wasn’t able to get everything you requested due to budget, many of the titles are here. So drop by and see what new books were added to our collection!

Information about Getting a Public Library Card
Getting a library card is very easy. As a resident of Polk County, library cards are available at no charge. Parent or guardian of child will need to bring in proof of identification and residency, such as a valid driver’s license, utility bill or insurance card to their local library to get a library card. Residents, property owners and business owners, employees and students of Polk County Public Schools and employees of Polk County Gov’t and Polk County college students may qualify for a free library card.
A Polk County library card is good at all 15 public libraries, including special collection libraries like the Historical Genealogical Library and Law Library located in Bartow. We have a bookmobile making 13 stops throughout Polk County and B-Mail (books-by-mail ) offering free home delivery service (anything you can find in your library can be delivered to your home). To get the ball rolling, parents can go online to register for a library card (follow the link below) and pick their card up at their library.
You can register for a card online via this link. This is a placeholder until you can get to the library to complete your registration; after a month, the account will close.
