Union Academy’s Learner Profile for January is Open Minded. Open minded learners respect the values of other individuals and cultures. They seek to consider a range of points of view and are willing to grow from the experience. January’s learners are Lexi K, Alyssa V, and Ricardo V.
To help raise money for iPads, on February 5th (early release day) KONA ICE will be here during lunch to sell treats to the students. Prices range from $2.00 to $6.00. Students must have their money on them when they enter the cafeteria.
-Due to low student attendance, Math Lab will only be open on Tuesday and Wednesday from 3-4 pm!
Parents of students who ride busses 1434, 1715, 1336 and 1942, due to safety concerns of overcrowding on the buses, it is necessary for some changes to be made to your student’s bus route. Beginning Monday, February 3rd, your student(s) bus number and stop time may change. Individual bussing information is going home with students who are affected, Thursday, January 30th. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter and should you have any questions please call transportation at 534-9248.
Congratulations Giovanni M!!! A tradition is if a student runs 100 pacers, they receive a free lunch and eat outside with 2 friends. Giovanni is the 3rd student in 12 years to reach this milestone.
Union Academy is joining Polk County Schools and school districts across the state for Celebrate Literacy Week Florida, Jan. 22-26. The 10th annual event promotes literacy and excellent reading habits in Florida’s students. This year’s theme is “Find Yourself in a Book!” Our activities include a Fan Art Contest. Students bring in a drawing based on a book to display in the Media Center. One entry per student & must be your own work. Book Title, Author, and your own name should be on your art.
